Chapter 332: Exploring The Awakener District, Awakener Arena
Chapter 332: Exploring The Awakener District, Awakener Arena
The [Awakener District] was the best looking one out of all of them by far.
Clean streets, beautiful architecture, and an air of prestige that hung over everything.
All the players here without question were at level ninety or above from what he could see.
They all wore amazing items and equipment that gleamed with power, and all of them seemed very powerful in their own unique ways just from how they carried themselves.
Clearing the awakener lord’s special test wasn’t something that many people could do after all, so only the elite of the elite made it to this place.
The concept of player rank didn’t even exist in this place since everyone was automatically S Rank.
Which meant they all had access to the best housing, the best items, and the best everything that the kingdom had to offer.
"Alright," Leon grinned as he looked at Emilia with excitement in his eyes, "Let’s explore this place and see if anything interesting catches our attention, and then..."
He didn’t complete his sentence out loud because he felt like there might be people listening to their conversation, but Emilia understood exactly what he meant, and she nodded in agreement.
Then just like that, the duo stepped forward together into the heart of the [Awakener District].
After around an hour of walking through the district and asking several players who were surprisingly eager to answer their questions, Leon and Emilia, the former still carrying Celeste on his back, finally stopped to take in everything they had learned.
Overall, the [Awakener District] was much different than the other districts they had visited before.
It seemed designed specifically for the most elite players who had proven themselves worthy.
There was an [Awakener Association] building here just like in the others, but it only had two sections available: [Market] and [Realm].
There was only one single [Realm] in the entirety of the district though, but that one realm allowed players to level up efficiently because it contained monsters ranging from level ninety all the way up to level one hundred.
There was also a massive housing district spread across a large portion of the area, where each player could get a house of their very own to customize.
It was quite obvious that thousands of players in this place had lived here for many years, and they seemed to genuinely enjoy the comfort and safety that came with being among the strongest in the domain.
And finally, sitting beside the housing district was the [Awakener Arena], which was easily the most important place in the entire district.
That was where players could attempt to fight the awakener lord’s four guardians for valuable prizes and recognition.
If someone actually managed to defeat all four of the guardians, they would then be able to try their chance against the [Awakener Lord] himself in a one on one battle for even greater rewards.
From what Leon heard though, while some people had managed to defeat the guardians over the years, none had ever come close to beating the awakener lord in a fair fight.
And eventually, after failing enough times or simply growing bored, these people moved on to another higher domain to grow stronger or prepare themselves for the [Eternal Battlefield].
This left the [Awakener Lord] with nobody able to even come close to matching him in terms of raw strength, which was clearly frustrating for someone who craved a worthy challenge.
He wanted to move on to other parts of [Eternal Ascension] to seek out a worthy opponent, but alas, the rules of the domain were made in a way that he could not leave until someone finally managed to beat him.
"So do you want to enter the arena and try your luck?" Emilia asked as they arrived in front of the massive colosseum like structure.
Fights happened every single night in that arena, making it the most important attraction in the entire district by a wide margin.
The [Awakener District] was roughly the size of a small city, and everything worked in it just like a real city would, from restaurants to bathhouses to pools and more.
"I guess we can go tonight to check it out," Leon spoke with a neutral expression, "Though I’m still not strong enough to challenge them seriously, so don’t expect me to fight anytime soon."
Leon then turned around and returned to the [Awakener Association] building, heading toward the [Market] section to see what kind of items were available for purchase.
And then, the moment he stepped inside, he saw something that made him stop in his tracks.
"Wow," Leon said quietly as his eyes adjusted to the sheer scale of what he was looking at.
He saw a massive hall with several different floors containing hundreds of items displayed in gleaming cases, all of which could be used by players at his level and above.
Celeste also woke up at that exact moment, her eyes widening in shock as she saw all these amazing items as the first thing she laid her eyes upon after waking up.
"W-Wow," she gasped as Leon gently placed her on the ground, "How long was I gone for?"
"Only around an hour," Leon replied with a small smile, "It’s fine though, you didn’t really miss much."
He and Emilia then explained everything they had learned about the district before turning their gaze back toward the massive [Market].
"Go check out everything you want to buy," Leon smiled gently at both of them, "And as long as whatever you pick isn’t too ridiculously expensive, I will try to buy it for you."
The two girls looked at each other with excited expressions, then nodded eagerly, because the idea of shopping for such powerful items with Leon’s money was genuinely exciting to them.
They rushed off toward a specific hall to look for items, while Leon remained standing at the entrance to think about his own needs.
"I guess I should check if there is anything actually useful for me in this place," Leon mumbled as he started browsing through the various stalls.
He had to assume that there were items here designed specifically for level one hundred players, which meant there would be incredibly expensive and powerful items available if he could afford them.
Leon looked through a lot of different places and examined the items carefully, and as expected, they were expensive as hell compared to anything he had seen before.
He also opened the [Trading House] panel at that moment to check on his sales.
Ding!
[You have sold many items and gained 27,382,940 Eternal Coins.]
"Woah, almost everything sold already," Leon said with genuine surprise at how quickly his items had been snatched up.
Leon once again had to thank his [Celestial] ID for bringing him such a good reputation among buyers, and also because almost all the items he had placed for sale were genuinely good pieces that people wanted.
[Eternal Coins: 29,853,560]
Regardless, it meant he now had a LOT of money to spend, which made him feel much more confident about being able to afford things for himself and his companions.
After a while of browsing separately, Emilia and Celeste returned to Leon, bringing him over to the items they wanted to buy.
Emilia wanted to buy a new skill book called [Bone Shuffle] and also wanted a [Magic Boosting Necklace] to increase her spell power.
Celeste wanted the [Pet Consumption Crystal] for Pyra, along with the [Flame Glyde Boots] for mobility and the [Crown of Eternal Fire] for her ember abilities.
"I’m pretty sure I will be able to get items that are even better than these pretty quickly," Leon mumbled as he saw their selection, "But I will remember that you wanted these things for later."
He couldn’t afford all of it right now, so he vowed to come back and buy them later if he could accumulate more money.
The [Bone Shuffle] skill book and the [Pet Consumption Crystal] were the main things he was interested in though, and he thought that both Emilia and Celeste were right in wanting those specific items.
The group then left the [Market] section and entered the [Realm] section instead, where they found a massive chamber.
Inside the chamber all around them was a mix of different biomes, each exuding a unique aura of power, and in the very middle was the giant portal that led to the realm itself.
As mentioned before, there was only one [Realm] in this entire district, but it was easily the biggest and most expansive realm Leon had ever seen.
Leon didn’t feel like entering at all though because he was tired from all the fighting earlier, so they simply hung around the entrance to watch other players come and go.
After a while, Leon, Celeste and Emilia exited the association building and explored the rest of the district, eating food at restaurants and resting on benches, until eventually night began to fall.
And then, right as the last light of day disappeared, a notification appeared before everyone in the district.
Ding!
[The "Awakener Arena" is now open, many combatants will attempt to challenge the guardians, please head there to witness it if you wish!]
