Chapter 33 Listening to Music
Chapter 33 Listening to Music
Lin Yu had planned to go home, but Anna was already asleep from exhaustion, so he decided not to disturb her.
It was almost dark when Lin Yu arrived at Su Wan's building. He went upstairs and knocked on the door.
The door opened, and Su Wan stood in the doorway.
She was wearing loungewear, her hair loosely tied up. Upon seeing Lin Yu, she threw herself into his arms, pressing her face against his chest.
"Honey, you've come at the perfect time! Are you busy today?"
"It's alright." Lin Yu put his arm around Su Wan and led her into the house.
"Where's Xiaoya?"
"Reading in the room." Su Wan looked up and kissed Lin Yu's cheek.
"Dinner's ready. Shall we eat first? Or take a shower first, or perhaps—" Su Wan hooked Lin Yu's hand in hers:
"Eat...me...first?"
As she spoke, Su Wan pulled Lin Yu into the master bedroom. It seemed that she was hungrier than Lin Yu.
The door closed, Su Wan turned around, hugged Lin Yu's neck, and kissed him.
...
At this moment, in the next room—
Su Xiaoya opened her eyes.
The music entering her ears made her face grow increasingly red, and her heart pounded.
She turned over and buried her face in the pillow, but she could still hear it.
Su Xiaoya unconsciously gripped the bed sheet, then suddenly sat up, covering her burning face:
"No, I can't listen to this anymore..."
But I'm so curious..."
Thinking this, she tiptoed to the door and opened it a crack.
There was no one in the hallway, and the door to the next room was closed.
Su Xiaoya bit her lip, hesitated for a few seconds, then quietly left the room and tiptoed to the door of the master bedroom.
He pressed his ear against the door.
This time, I could hear it much more clearly.
Su Wan was singing, and the music started.
Su Xiaoya pressed her hand to her chest, feeling her heart pounding wildly.
Just then, the sounds from inside the door suddenly stopped.
Su Xiaoya was startled and quickly turned around, tiptoed back to her room, and gently closed the door.
She walked to the bedside, sat down, hugged her knees, and buried her face in her arms.
Lin Yu's face flashed through my mind.
The man who saved her, protected her, strong yet gentle.
Su Xiaoya bit her lip, her fingers unconsciously tracing circles on her thigh.
She lay down, burrowed under the covers, and curled up into a ball.
But even with my eyes closed, those sounds and images still linger.
The next room—
Lin Yu held Su Wan in his arms, stroking her hair with his fingers.
"Tired?"
"Hmm..." Su Wan's voice carried a languid quality: "You were... a bit fierce today. Did something upset you?"
Lin Yu smiled and said, "I dealt with some people on the black market, but everything is fine now."
What, you don't like it?
"No~ I like it very much..." Su Wan buried her face in Lin Yu's chest:
"Even when Xiaoya is next door, I don't dare to make a sound."
Lin Yu didn't speak; he had heard the noise at the door earlier.
But it wasn't said outright.
......
Su Wan fell asleep quickly.
Lin Yu stood by the window, an unlit cigarette between his fingers, his gaze calmly fixed on the scattered lights in the distance.
But just then, a dark figure silently slid down from the eaves and gracefully flipped into the window like a nocturnal animal.
The nightingale landed almost silently. Seeing Su Wan asleep on the bed, she raised an eyebrow, a playful smile curving her lips.
"Oh, you're exhausted so quickly?" Nightingale lowered her voice and walked to Lin Yu's side, gently placing her fingers on his shoulder:
"Looks like someone... wasn't quite done?"
Lin Yu turned to look at her: "Finished?"
"Yes." Nightingale nodded.
"Those henchmen of the Scorpion were all filthy, I... killed them all." Nightingale paused, leaning forward, almost pressing against Lin Yu's back.
"So...shouldn't the boss give us a reward?"
"What reward do you want?" Lin Yu asked, turning around. Nightingale nestled into his arms.
...
...
One hour later—
Lin Yu held Nightingale close, his hand gently stroking her back:
"Is my little nightingale satisfied?"
Nightingale snorted and buried her face in Lin Yu's chest: "Satisfied..."
After resting for more than ten minutes, Nightingale struggled to get up and get dressed.
"I should go," she said.
"The black market has just been taken over, and there are still many things to deal with."
Lin Yu didn't try to stop her. Nightingale was a strong-willed woman, and Lin Yu never treated her like a pretty face.
"Be careful, and let me know if anything happens."
Nightingale walked to the window and glanced back at Lin Yu:
"You too." With that, she climbed out the window and disappeared into the night.
The living room returned to quiet.
Su Xiaoya quickly closed the door and leaned against it, panting heavily.
She knew she shouldn't be watching, but... she couldn't control herself.
It felt like a new world had opened up for me.
and...
She looked up at the doorway:
"Outside the door is Brother Lin Yu! Brother Lin Yu is so amazing... Xiao Ya too—"
Su Xiaoya's fingers unconsciously twisted the hem of her dress, and a thought quietly took root in her mind.
